I can feel proud and excited when I learn new things and try my best.

Parent–Child Learning Together

Weekly Discovery Night

Pick one night each week to learn something together – from making slime to watching a wildlife documentary. Let children lead the topic.

Cook and Count

Cook together while practising reading (recipe instructions), maths (measuring ingredients) and science (heat changes). Encourage predictions and questions.

Library Treasure Hunt

Visit the local library and create themed challenges (e.g. find a book about animals, a funny poem, a book with maps). Join reading schemes such as Bookstart Cymru.

Learning Jar

Write questions or challenges on paper (e.g. 'Find out how old the oldest tree is', 'Draw a map of your street') and pick one each day.

Family Learning Passport

Create a 'learning passport' to track new things your family tries together. Include a stamp or sticker for every topic, skill, book or adventure you explore. Review it monthly to celebrate curiosity and perseverance.

Watch, Read, Talk

Watch short child-friendly news clips or videos, then ask: What did we learn? What surprised us? What do we want to know more about? [First News – News for Kids](https://www.firstnews.co.uk/)
